Changing the inner tie rod. I’m stuck at the first step. I’m trying to loosen the nut and it will not come off. So far I’ve tried pb blaster and muscle. That ain’t cutting it and I have no room to get a tube over the wrench for more leverage. I actually flexed the wrench trying to get the nut off. I need ideas. Thanks

Edit: never mind I’m an idiot. I wasn’t doing the first step first lol. Will update if successful.

Edit 2.0: IT worked had to use the torch. Thanks all!! I’ll get you a nice picture of something later when I have time

If you don’t give a damn about the nut or tie rod, break out a torch.

Double check the way it is threaded. One side of the tie rod will likely  have reverse threads.

Try loosening/tightening to see if it will help break loose? Use heat if you got it. That control arm bushing does not look happy.

Having some experience with these, get a torch and make that nut glow.

Changing just the inner tie-rod? Outer ones tend to wear out faster, so why not change them both at once? That way you can remove them as one piece or destroy the old ones as much as you need to .

Money is my main concern right now. I’m broke. I have $81 total. And I need 60 for the alignment after I get this fixed. Might be enough for a tie rod though.

Take a very close look at the threads, that nut may be left-hand thread (as in righty-loosey, lefty-tighty).

That bushing on the lower control arm really ought to be addressed before you pay for an alignment; set the toe on the new rod with some string to about 1/8-1/16" in and it will be drivable until you can get around to doing that bushing, then get it aligned. It won’t hold a proper alignment with that bushing falling apart.

You can always try a little heat on the nut

The the electric impact gun at Harbor Freight for like 45 bucks is worth every penny I use it to blast off all the rusty nuts
